To achieve the best price for your home, it's crucial to understand that great marketing and broad exposure are not enough. The property itself must be great and meet buyers' expectations.

This can be an uncomfortable conversation as a seller. But it’s 100% worth going into it with an open mind if you want to make top dollar on your home!

What you need to keep in mind is this:

- Your assumption of what buyers want might not actually match the market right now

- Buyer expectations change with the market, and since the market has been changing recently, what worked a few years ago might not be what buyers are looking for now

- Don’t take your agent’s improvement suggestions personally!

When you and your agent have this conversation, remember that they are simply trying to help you get the most money out of selling your property.

You’re working with your agent because they’re an expert–so trust them to help you get your property to meet buyer expectations.
